About Disability Community Advocacy: Invisible Voices

About Invisible Voices

Invisible Voices is a platform dedicated to amplifying voices and sharing lived experiences within the disability community. Many individuals living with disability, chronic illness, or injury encounter realities that are often unseen or misunderstood by those around them. Invisible Voices was created to foster discussion around these experiences.

Through storytelling, community perspectives, and advocacy, the platform aims to enhance inclusion awareness by amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. By sharing stories and insights, Invisible Voices seeks to promote greater awareness, understanding, and inclusion within our communities.

At its heart, Invisible Voices is about connection, creating a space where lived experiences can be shared, listened to, and respected.

Our Mission

Our mission focuses on amplifying voices of individuals living with disabilities and invisible illnesses. We aim to create space for storytelling, promote inclusion awareness, and encourage greater understanding of the lived experiences within our communities.

Why Invisible Voices Matter

Invisible illnesses and disabilities are often misunderstood because their impact is not always visible. Invisible Voices was created to help raise inclusion awareness through storytelling and lived experiences from within the disability community.

The platform also aims to highlight assistive technologies, innovations, and ideas that may help improve quality of life and expand opportunities for people living with disabilities, thereby amplifying voices that are often overlooked.

By sharing stories, knowledge, and discoveries, Invisible Voices hopes to strengthen the voice of the community and encourage greater understanding, empowerment, and inclusion.

A Message From The Founder

Making the Invisible, Visible!

Invisible Voices was created from a deeply personal place.

Living with chronic illness and navigating life with disability has shaped the way I experience the world physically, emotionally, and mentally. Over time, I began to notice how much of this journey exists beneath the surface.

The quiet moments. The internal battles. The strength it takes to keep showing up, even when your body feels like it’s working against you. So much of this goes unseen or misunderstood.

I created this platform because I know I’m not alone in that and neither are you.

Invisible Voices is a space for these experiences to be shared openly and honestly, in a way that feels safe, respectful, and real.

It’s also a space to bring greater awareness to what daily life can truly look like not only for those living with disability or chronic illness, but for carers, families, and the wider community. A chance to see things from a different perspective, and to build deeper understanding and connection.

This platform is more than just sharing stories. It’s about understanding the world we navigate, and recognising that it can look and feel very different depending on the body you live in.

It’s also about creating opportunity, a place where voices can be seen and heard not only by the community, but by organisations, advocates, and leaders who are in a position to listen, support, and create meaningful change.

My hope is that Invisible Voices becomes a space for connection, collaboration, and growth, where stories can lead to greater awareness, new opportunities, and a more inclusive way forward.

This is something I hope continues to grow into a space of connection, understanding, and opportunity
